Scissors- MATWORKThe Level One Matwork Course (IMP) provides instructors with the foundation and skills needed to develop effective and motivating personal training programs and some group programming skills will also be covered. This course will enable instructors to design and teach the Level 1 (Essential and Intermediate) Matwork repertoire, integrating small equipment to add variety and meet the specific needs of clients.

In addition to the general course objectives, it covers:

  • Workout composition for personal sessions and some group classes
  • Essential, Intermediate, and Power workouts
  • Flex-Band®, Fitness Circle® and Arc Barrel workouts
  • How to incorporate resistance equipment to support and intensify exercises
  • Theory and practice of postural analysis
  • Exercise layering related to effective program design
  • 63 exercises plus multiple modifications

Prerequisites:

  • Working knowledge of functional anatomy- 30 hours
  • 30 hours of  Pilates Experience

Duration:

  • 40 hours instruction and supervised teaching
  • Minimum 10 hours observation
  • Minimum 15 hours practice teaching
  • Minimum 30 hours physical review
  • Total – 95 hours

Continuing Education Credits:
4.0 STOTT PILATES credits
